A guest lecture and speech competition was organized on the occasion of World AIDS Day under the aegis of "Internal Quality and Assurance Cell" (IQAC) on 1 December 2022 in the auditorium of SD College of Commerce, Muzaffarnagar. Principal Dr. Sachin Goel said that such programs give students an opportunity to know about the college and get to know about the academic and non-academic activities going on in the college. The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp in front of Mother Saraswati by College Principal Dr. Sachin Goyal, Chief Speaker Mr. Akshay Sharma, Custom Inspector, Mumbai, Dr. Saurabh Jain (IQAC Coordinator) and Dr. Monika Ruhela, Head of the Faculty of Science.

Inaugurating the program, the first keynote speaker Mr. Akshay Sharma said in his lecture that this year the theme of World AIDS Day, Equalize, is a call to action. According to UNAIDS, this means that everyone must work to eliminate the injustices that hinder the fight to end AIDS. Dr. Saurabh Jain, HOD, Department of Science, said that World AIDS Day is important because it reminds the public and the government that it is a serious problem that urgently needs funding, awareness, eradication of prejudice, and better educational opportunities.
