The students of B.Sc.(Science & Microbiology) students of S.D. College of Commerce, Muzaffarnagar took an industrial visit to the Bio Gas Plant located at Khatauli, which is operated by M/s. PS Green Gas and IGL. College Principal Dr. Sachin Goel sent off all the teachers and students for the tour with best wishes. On reaching the plant, the manager there Deepak Som welcomed all the students and teachers and gave information about the plant. He told that this plant is the biggest biogas plant in Muzaffarnagar, which will prepare organic manure for bio-farming. Biogas contains 55 percent to 70 percent methane gas, which is flammable. The gas obtained from the biogas plant is used for cooking and lighting. The capacity of this plant is to produce 5500 kg of biogas per day, which is purchased by IGL in compressed form. While giving further information, he took a tour of the entire plant and gave most of the information related to the plant to the students.

Giving further information, Head of the Department, Dr. Saurabh Jain said that the plant has a well-shaped digester, on top of which there is a drum where the gas is collected. are produced in required numbers in the mixture and decompose the mixture. The plant also has an inlet and outlet through which the waste (slurry) of the plant comes out from which organic manure is prepared. Finally, the gas collected in the drum is compressed through an adsorber and filled in a cylinder.
